Project Description

SB Projects contracted to on a design and construct basis to relocate the Lachlan Macquarie room to a new site at Macquarie University. Lachlan Macquarie’s Study was catalogued, photographed and dismantled to be reconstructed as an exhibition space within a glass display barrier. The job involved the co ordination of heritage advisors and numerous stake holders to translocate the room, maintain its heritage aspects and make it relevant to the new space.

Client’s comments
… The programme for the works was very tight to coincide with the official opening of the library and there were budget problems from the start. SB Projects were able to find significant costs savings while maintaining the integrity of the overall design and delivered the project within the time frame and on budget. I would have no hesitation in recommending Simply Building for works of this nature in the future…
