Size of Project: 450m2
Completion: 6 weeks
Budget: $550,000
Location: Milperra in Western Sydney, NSW
Outcome: Hitachi management and staff were thrilled with the result
SB Projects managed the entire process for Hitachi from design of a new interior for the administration building, the temporary relocation of staff occupying over 30 workspaces for the duration of the project, taking out all of the old to make way for the new (recycling whenever possible), construction of the new reception area, new bathrooms and ambulant facilities, breakout and office spaces, supply and installation of new detailed joinery, furniture and workstations. SB Projects also ensured that all necessary approvals (in this case a Complying Development Certification and Occupation Certificate were in place.
The office fitout project kicked off with the complete removal and disposal of all existing building materials to make way for a fresh new look. This included a new set ceiling in the lobby area and a suspended ceiling grid system featuring acoustic tiles in other areas of the site, glass doors, new sunscreen roller blinds, slimline partition framing, LED flat panel lighting, feature pendant lighting, carpet tiles in offices and timber look vinyl planks in common areas, bespoke graphic branding and landscaping to form a new front entrance way. Common areas such as male, female and accessible toilets plus landscaping at the front entrance were renewed and updated with a fresh new look. SB Projects installed plenty of data points and general power, with soft wire connections to all desks and installed a new swipe card entry to the offices and workshop space for enhanced security.
Other works were done in order to bring the building into compliance with Building Code of Australia (BCA) standards, such as smoke detection, exit emergency signage, Emergency Warning speakers, exhausts to toilets and an upgrade to the mechanical services throughout.
It goes without saying that the ultimate part of the project for SB Projects was a final detailed clean of the entire works area so that it was sparkling and ready for the staff to move back in. SB Projects then coordinated the relocation of staff back into their new environment.
Hitachi management and staff were thrilled with the result.
